Growing up in Baldwin Village ("The Jungles"), an enclave located in South Central, Los Angeles, exposed and subjected my adolescent self to a world most people only see on television. However, this virtual world was reality in my backyard.
Gang culture and incarceration were normal experiences of my disadvantaged childhood which subsequently invigorated my artistry as a youth, who learned to embrace the impoverished struggle as a beautiful journey.
Overcoming a life sentence for a crime I did not commit at the age of 18, has led me to becoming a juvenile justice advocate, who has been blessed to travel the country and world sharing my story and expertise in mission to inspire the youth and ultimately change heinous laws that disproportionately impacts African Americans.
Now a Morehouse College alumnus, I'm set out on this pilgrimage to capture and broadcast society as it is envisioned by my "Fifth Eye," by way of journalism through photography and film.
I love to help others in learning to love their flaws, express their distress and utilize their talents, whether if its through an organic conversation or a Jungletography visual.
The world is a beautiful yet dangerous rain forest, but I am the Rose that Survived the Jungle!
Peace & Blessings,
